The Story Of Chroma Family

Chroma Family traces its roots back to Chroma Records, a music studio founded by Joseph Luyima, a singer and producer from Jehovah Shaloma Acapella. The studio was originally established with a clear mission: to produce faith-based music, mainly serving choirs, acapella groups, and individual gospel artists who desired to glorify God through music.
As time passed, Chroma Records gradually became more than just a recording studio. It turned into a meeting point and refuge for young people, especially those who lacked stable homes or direction in life. Many youths began gathering at the studio for prayer sessions, fasting, fellowship, and spiritual encouragement, hoping for a better future.
Among the key people who joined during this period was Aimo Mwesigwa, who later introduced Shivan Twizera. Together with Joseph Luyima, the three formed a strong bond and became like a family. Their shared passion for faith, music, and helping struggling youths inspired them to open their doors to more young people in need.
As more youths came seeking support and community, the small studio space could no longer accommodate everyone. This led to a move to a larger place known as the new Chroma, where the vision began to grow even further.
From this environment, Chroma Family was born.
Under the leadership of Joseph Luyima, Aimo Mwesigwa, and Shivan Twizera, and with the coordination of Aimo Mwesigwa, Chroma Family was established with a clear mission:
• To provide a home for homeless youths.
• To train young people in practical skills that can transform their lives.
• To nurture them spiritually so they can build a strong relationship with God.
The organization operates under the guiding slogan: “God Over Everything.”
Through this vision, Chroma Family has grown into a community of about 45 members, including both resident youths and non-resident members who come to participate in activities.
Within Chroma Family, young people are involved in various activities, including:
• Singing in the choir
• Prayer and fellowship gatherings
• Learning musical instruments
• Audio production training
• Acting in Christian films
• Developing creative and life skills that can help them build a better future
Today, Chroma Family continues to serve as a spiritual home, training ground, and supportive community where young people can grow in faith, creativity, and purpose
